armed soldiers and police at the Government House last week is dead. Kiforo was said to have died at about 11am yesterday, after he was successfully operated upon last Friday at the 44 Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna.

The state Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Saidu Adamu confirmed his death while speaking with Daily Sun in Kaduna yesterday, saying, “his death is shocking and unfortunate.” When asked about the securitymen that shot Kiforo, the government’s spokesman said, “I cannot speak on the investigation currently going on, on the shooting at the Government House; it is the security agents that are investigating it and not government. The police have the right to speak on it and not the government.”

However, some pastors of the Living Faith Church, Kaduna, who are associates of the late Kiforo have reacted to the unfortunate death of their colleague, extolling his virtues. Mr. Samson Fagbemi said, it was unfortunate that Kiforo could not live to give his own version of how the security at the Government House opened fire on him.

According to him, “we have listened to the government version about the circumstances leading to the unfortunate incident at the Governmement House but we could not get his own version of the story which is unfortunate. We had hoped he would come out and tell us what really happened but we could not get his version.
“By virtue of our training, we should have looked at both sides to the issue. I am yet to believe that a pastor would be asked to stop and he refused to stop. If we are left with the official version of the incident, we just keep our fingers crossed and look up to God.”

Fagbemi stressed further that, “one cannot say it was an act of God because God is not the author of confusion. I have known him since the late 80s and we have always been together, as brothers, deacons and as pastors.
“He was the one who introduced the Hausa service in the Church. He is well known among the entire pastors and he loved God.”

Meanwhile, the Narayi residence of the deceased pastor was besieged by sympathisers who paid condolence visit to the family yesterday.www.sunnewsonline.com
